An AR experience shares the story of the Virginia Beach Dome, a historic concert venue which hosted many iconic performances including The Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, and Jimi Hendrix before its demolition in 1994. After sitting vacant as a parking lot for 30 years, the area is currently under construction and will be the future site of Atlantic Park, a $335 million entertainment district featuring a surf park, music venue, multifamily apartments, retail and office space. 

At the VPS wayspot, the massive dome emerges from its original location before launching into the sky, revealing an audiovisual spectacle above the viewer. The kaleidoscopic video brings the story of the dome to life, adding an extra dimension to the construction fence graphics along the perimeter. Here, an AR experience can engage people in a playful sharing of local history and ignite excitement for the future potential of Virginia Beach.
